Foster Refrigerators USA was founded in 1946 in Hudson, New York, and has built commercial refrigeration there ever since.

We grew up supplying refrigeration to the U.S. Navy — aircraft carriers, submarines, and supply vessels, where a walk-in has to hold temperature through shock, vibration, and salt air that destroys consumer-grade equipment within a season. Earning and keeping approval as a Navy supplier meant building to a standard that left no margin for shortcuts: no wood to rot, no fasteners to corrode, no panel seam that could fail underway.

That same military-grade construction is what we sell to civilian commercial markets today. From aircraft carriers to restaurant kitchens, from fishing vessels to hospital cafeterias, schools, and cold-storage warehouses, the build is the same. We didn't create a separate, lighter product for the commercial market — we ship the one the Navy already trusted, made in the same plant in Hudson.
